Canesten Thrush Combi Soft Gel Pessary & External Cream

Total£12.99

Canesten Thrush Combi Soft Gel Pessary & External Cream is a dual-action treatment designed to treat vaginal thrush while also relieving the uncomfortable external symptoms that can occur around the vaginal area. Vaginal thrush is a common fungal infection caused by an overgrowth of Candida. It can cause symptoms including vaginal itching, soreness, irritation and an unusual white discharge, which is usually odourless. External symptoms may also include redness, swelling and irritation around the vaginal opening.

This Canesten combination pack contains two treatments:

  1. Soft gel pessary: Contains clotrimazole, an antifungal medicine that treats the cause of vaginal thrush inside the vagina. The soft gel formulation is inserted into the vagina, where it releases the active ingredient to target the infection.

  2. External cream: Also contains clotrimazole and is applied to the skin around the vaginal opening. It helps treat the external symptoms of thrush, including itching, soreness and irritation.

Using both treatments together provides targeted treatment for thrush symptoms both internally and externally, making it a convenient option when symptoms affect more than one area.

How To Use

Soft Gel Pessary

  1. The pessary is inserted into the vagina using the applicator. It is best used before going to bed.

  2. Wash your hands before opening the pack and again after using the applicator.

  3. Prepare the applicator: Pull the plunger out until it stops. Remove the pessary from the foil and place it firmly into the applicator.

  4. Insert the pessary: Carefully insert the applicator as far as is comfortable into the vagina. This may be easier when lying on your back with your knees bent.

  5. Release the pessary: Slowly press the plunger until it stops, then gently remove the applicator.

  6. Dispose of the applicator safely.

As the pessary dissolves, some leakage may occur, so wearing a panty liner can help protect your underwear.

External Cream

The cream helps relieve itching and soreness around the entrance of the vagina.

  1. Pierce the tube seal using the pointed end of the cap.

  2. Apply a thin, even layer of cream to the affected external area.

  3. Gently smooth the cream into the skin.

  4. Apply 2–3 times a day until your symptoms have cleared.

If there is no improvement after 7 days, speak to your doctor.

If your thrush comes back after 7 days, you can use one further treatment. However, if you experience more than two infections within 6 months, you should see your doctor for further advice.

Always read the package leaflet before use
