Canesten Thrush Soft Gel Pessary
Canesten Thrush Soft Gel Pessary is a convenient single-dose treatment for vaginal thrush. It contains clotrimazole, an antifungal medicine that works directly against the fungus responsible for causing thrush.
Vaginal thrush is a common fungal infection that can cause uncomfortable symptoms such as itching, soreness, redness and irritation around the vagina, as well as a white, usually odourless vaginal discharge. These symptoms can be uncomfortable and may affect your everyday activities.
The Canesten Soft Gel Pessary is inserted directly into the vagina using the applicator provided. Once inserted, the soft gel pessary dissolves and releases clotrimazole, allowing the medicine to work directly at the site of the infection. The treatment is designed to target the underlying fungal infection and help your symptoms improve.
How To Use
Use 1 Canesten 500 mg Soft Gel Pessary once, preferably at bedtime.
Wash your hands before and after using it.
Put the pessary into the applicator and twist it gently so it stays in place.
Lie on your back with your knees bent. Gently insert the applicator as far into the vagina as is comfortable.
Slowly press the plunger to release the pessary.
Remove and throw the applicator away safely. Do not flush it down the toilet.
The pessary dissolves inside the vagina, so you may want to wear a panty liner.
Symptoms should usually improve within 3 days.
If there is no improvement after 7 days, contact your doctor.
If thrush comes back after 7 days, you can use one more treatment.
If you have thrush more than twice in 6 months, see your doctor.
