Canesten Cream (Clotrimazole)
Canesten Cream contains clotrimazole, an antifungal medicine used to treat a range of common fungal skin infections. It can help relieve symptoms such as itching, redness, soreness and irritation while treating the underlying fungal infection.
Canesten Cream is suitable for conditions such as ringworm, athlete’s foot, fungal nappy rash and fungal sweat rash. It can also be used to relieve irritation of the vulva (external thrush) or the end of the penis (thrush), where these symptoms are associated with a fungal infection.
The cream is easy to apply directly to the affected area and should be used as directed on the product packaging or by your pharmacist or healthcare professional.

How To Use
Adults and children over 16 years:
Wash and dry the affected area thoroughly before applying the cream. If treating athlete’s foot, make sure you dry carefully between your toes.
Apply a thin, even layer to the affected area 2–3 times a day and gently rub it in.
Approximately ½ cm of cream is enough to cover an area about the size of your hand.
Treatment usually takes at least 2 weeks, although some infections may require treatment for up to 4 weeks. Continue using the cream for the recommended duration.
If you have athlete’s foot, your pharmacist may recommend using an antifungal powder alongside the cream.
Try not to scratch the affected area, as this can damage the skin and spread the infection.
Keep the affected area clean and dry.
Wash your hands after applying the cream to help prevent the infection from spreading.
Do not share towels, bath mats or other personal items.
For athlete’s foot, dry carefully between your toes, wash socks and hosiery regularly, and change your footwear daily where possible.
