NiQuitin Minis Lozenges can be used whether you want to stop smoking completely, gradually reduce your smoking, or manage cravings when you cannot smoke.

If you want to stop smoking completely

Use a lozenge whenever you feel the urge to smoke. Most people use 8–12 lozenges a day, but do not use more than 15 lozenges in 24 hours.

Continue using the lozenges for up to 6 weeks, then gradually reduce how many you use each day. When you are down to 1–2 lozenges a day, you can stop using them.

If you are finding it difficult to stop using the lozenges, speak to a healthcare professional.

If you want to gradually reduce smoking

Use a lozenge whenever you have a strong craving. This can help you smoke fewer cigarettes and increase the time between cigarettes.

You can use the lozenges as needed, but do not use more than 15 lozenges per day.

Try to stop smoking completely as soon as you feel ready. If you have not reduced the amount you smoke after 6 weeks, speak to a healthcare professional.

If you have not made an attempt to stop smoking completely within 6 months, seek advice from a healthcare professional.

If you want to cut down

If you are not ready to quit completely, you can use a lozenge when you have a strong urge to smoke. Try to reduce the number of cigarettes you smoke and aim to stop completely as soon as possible.

Do not use more than 15 lozenges per day.

If you still need to use the lozenges regularly after 6 months and have not been able to make a permanent attempt to quit, speak to a healthcare professional.

If you need to temporarily avoid smoking

Use one lozenge every 1–2 hours to help control cravings and withdrawal symptoms.

Do not use more than 15 lozenges per day. You should aim to stop smoking completely as soon as possible.
