Mounjaro
Mounjaro costs between £124 and £350+ per month in the UK, depending on the dose and provider. It contains the drug tirzepatide which mimics natural hormones in the body. As a dual-action therapy, Mounjaro has found its place as the most effective treatment currently available.
The starter dose (2.5mg) is usually more affordable with prices increasing with each dose strength. Higher maintenance doses (10-15mg) tend to be the most expensive, reflecting an increase in medication volume and prices set by the manufacturer.
Mounjaro requires a private prescription for weight loss through a registered online clinic. Here at Quick Meds, the price includes the cost of an online consultation, prescriber review and temperature controlled delivery.
Prices are usually cheaper at online pharmacies compared to high-street pharmacies due to lower overhead costs and increased competition.
In September 2025, the manufacturer, Eli Lilly, announced a significant increase in price to bring it in line with European and American markets. This change has understandably created challenges for many patients wishing to continue their treatment.
At Quick Meds , we recognise the positive impact Mounjaro has had on the health and quality of life of our patients and remain committed to ensuring Mounjaro remains accessible and affordable.

Mounjaro is available from multiple UK online pharmacies. The price varies by provider and dose level, with some companies including the cost of consultation fees or coaching fees whilst other providers price these separately.
The table above shows Mounjaro prices per dose from 2.5mg through 15mg. The starter dose is generally more affordable compared to the higher maintenance doses.
All providers include needles free of charge with Mounjaro devices though sharps bins usually need to be purchased separately.
Mounjaro prices can vary between providers depending on dose strength and delivery requirements but at Quick Meds the monthly price is transparent with no hidden fees.
Several factors can influence the price, including:
Dose level : The higher the dose, usually the higher the price, as it contains more of the active ingredient. The starter dose (2.5mg) tends to be more affordable with higher doses (10 - 15mg) being the most expensive.
Delivery and cold chain requirements : Mounjaro requires cold chain delivery. Specialised temperature controlled packaging is therefore used, the price of which is included in postage fees.
Clinical support and monthly review : To ensure ongoing safety and effectiveness, our prescribers review each monthly order you place. All clinical support is included within the price advertised.
Flexible, no subscription model : Unlike other providers, at Quick Meds , you only pay for what you get. We do not offer subscription models which, whilst slightly more affordable, ‘lock you in’ to a set regime. This process allows flexibility to adjust the dose monthly as per your requirements.
Supply reliability : Usually, we do not authorise multiple orders at the same time. This helps increase access to all patients, particularly during times of supply issues.
Eli Lilly increased UK prices of all Mounjaro strengths in September 2025. Despite this, Quick Meds remains committed to ensuring treatment remains accessible in line with current market values. Prices remain transparent, with no hidden fees, subscriptions or recurring charges.
Mounjaro is available on the NHS, though with strict eligibility and a phased rollout. To be eligible, patients usually require a much higher BMI and have multiple weight related medical conditions.
Additionally, long waiting lists and limited national roll out on the NHS leads to most patients accessing Mounjaro through private providers.
Mounjaro was approved for NHS use following guidance from NICE . This approval allows prescribing within specialist NHS weight management services, but only for patients who meet the defined clinical thresholds rather than for general cosmetic weight loss.
Access is typically limited to adults who meet one of the following:
BMI of 30 to 34.9 with at least one weight- related medical condition (such as hypertension or type 2 diabetes)
BMI of 35 or above, and you meet other criteria usually following referral into a specialist weight-management service rather than a standard GP prescription.
Although approved, NHS access remains restricted and highly competitive. Patients generally require a referral pathway and may face long waiting lists before assessment or treatment begins. Mounjaro is not routinely issued through standard GP appointments in most regions.
If eligible, for patients who are not exempt, they would only pay the current NHS prescription charge of £9.90 per item in England.
Because of these limitations, most patients access Mounjaro via private prescription from regulated online pharmacies. Private prescriptions involve an online medical questionnaire and a clinician review, and there is no NHS subsidy or insurance coverage for private treatment. This route is often chosen for faster access and greater flexibility, with patients bearing the full expense of treatment.

From the prices above, we can see Mounjaro is now more expensive than Wegovy (post September 2025). Wegovy can be obtained at the starting dose from as little as £80-£99 from some providers with the Mounjaro starting dose from £124-£149.
The price difference is not the only factor which determines the most suitable treatment. Mounjaro, whilst more expensive may produce slightly higher average weight loss whilst Wegovy has cardiovascular benefit data, as seen in the SELECT trial.
Mounjaro is cheaper when prices are compared across providers. You can save money by:
Staying on the lowest, most effective dose as long as possible. You do not need to increase if your current dose is working for you.
Choosing a provider who doesn’t charge separate consultation or ongoing clinical support fees.
Some providers may offer first-time discount codes to help save between £20 to £80. Whilst these usually apply to consultation and other fees rather than the medication, it can help bring down the overall monthly cost.
Irrespective of the price, it's important to check the provider's GPhC registration, to ensure you are completing a legitimate purchase. Whilst some providers may offer significant discounts, these may not be regulated, supplying counterfeit medicines. The MHRA recently has seized fake Mounjaro pens.
Always check the provider is registered with the GPhC . The GPhC regulates UK pharmacies and pharmacists ensuring they are held to a high standard, supplying regulated medication. To ensure you are receiving legitimate medication, stick to the below tips:
Avoid unregulated suppliers . Unregulated suppliers may supply counterfeit or unsafe medication. The MHRA has warned about counterfeit Mounjaro pens and the health risk they can pose.
Clinical assessment - as a prescription treatment, Mounjaro requires clinical assessment before dispensing. This is usually done by completing an online form followed by a telephone or video consultation.
Storage - Mounjaro must be stored at 2-8°, in a fridge and kept cool during delivery. Providers should ship your treatment in packaging that protects from temperature fluctuations.
Unrealistic prices - If the price sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Mounjaro is a branded product and will attract a charge usually between £130 to £300
Choosing a regulated provider that follows these steps ensures you receive genuine medication safely and with appropriate clinical oversight.
