Regaine for women is a product used in hereditary hair loss. It is scientifically proven to help regrow hair and even reverse hereditary hair loss.
Regaine contains an active ingredient called Minoxidil (5%) which works directly at the roots and strengthens and revitalises the hair follicle for growth of noticeably fuller and thicker hair.
Regaine cannot be used to treat receding hairlines.
Minoxidil is clinically proven to regrow hair in 8/10 women*.
Regaine Scalp Foam
Regaine is available in more than one type of formulation.
The foam can be considered more convenient to use as it is less messy to apply than the solution.
Regaine foam can be applied as part of your daily routine as it dries quickly and allows for styling your hair.
The foam for women has a higher concentration of minoxidil (5%) in comparison to the Regaine solution for women (2%).
Regaine foam is designed for women aged 18-65 years.
How to use
Regaine solution is applied directly to the scalp.
For full instructions, please see the patient information leaflet.
How to apply:
1. Wash and dry your hands before application
2. Ensure both the hair and scalp are dry before applying the foam
3. Hold the bottle upside down and press the nozzle to dispense the foam onto your fingers. The maximum quantity of foam dispensed should not exceed 1g (half a capful)
4. Lightly massage the foam into the affected areas of the scalp
5. Wash your hands thoroughly after the application of the solution
The foam should only be used once a day
Side effects & Cautions
As with all medication, minoxidil can cause side effects. Common side effects include:
• Itching or dermatitis
• Headache
• Unwanted non-scalp hair has been reported. It is important to thoroughly wash your hands after application to ensure the solution is not transferred to any other part of your body. If it does transfer, wash the area thoroughly with plenty of water.
For an extensive list of side effects, please see the patient information leaflet.

Ingredients
Active Ingredient: Minoxidil 5%
Inactive ingredients: Butane, butylated hydroxytoluene, cetyl alcohol, citric acid, glycerol, isobutane, lactic acid, polysorbate 60, propane, purified water, stearyl alcohol, ethanol anhydrous.
Minoxidil penetrates the root of the hair to help hair thinning, reactivate inactive follicles and also strengthens and revitalises the hair follicle to grow new and thicker hair.
Minoxidil promotes hair growth in 4 ways:
1. Increase blood flow around the hair follicles
2. Reverse miniaturisation of hair follicles
3. Stimulates hair follicle movement from the resting phase to the hair growth phase
4. Extends each hair follicles growth phase
Regaine solution needs to be used consistently for results to become visible. When used twice a day, results can be seen in 32 weeks (reported by 3/5 women).
It is important to keep up the application regimen morning and night so results are visible. Daily use is necessary to maintain results. Excessive use will not regrow the hair any quicker but there is an increased chance of side-effects if used more than it should be.
During the first few weeks of use, you may notice a temporary increase in hair shedding. This is representative of the beginning of a new hair growth cycle. If the shedding lasts longer than two weeks, stop use of Regaine and get in touch with your doctor.
Regaine for women solution is designed for women only between, and including, the ages of 18 and 65.
It is not suitable for men and anyone outside of the above age brackets.
Men cannot use this product as it is designed for women, however, Regaine for men is available to purchase on our website. It contains the same active ingredient but at a concentration of 5%. Please see ‘Regaine For Men’ for more information.
If you miss an application or two, continue as normal. Do not use twice as much or double the application.
If you use too much, seek medical advice from your GP or pharmacist. Take the container with you for reference.
If the solution has been accidentally swallowed, you need to go to the hospital immediately.
Regaine MUST NOT be used on any part of the body except the scalp.
Regaine solution should be applied twice daily for best results. Leave at least 12 hours between each use.
Do not exceed more than 2ml per day.
Most products are suitable to be used alongside Regaine expect products that contain petrolatum (petroleum jelly). Apply the Regain before the use of any other styling products because Regaine needs to be used on a dry scalp.
You can use hair dye as normal alongside Regaine. If getting your hair dyed by a professional, inform them of your use of Regaine.
One bottle of Regaine for Women Regular Strength will last 30 days if being applied twice a day according to the directions.
