What is Aronix?
Aronix is an over-the-counter medicine containing 50mg of sildenafil. It provides the same active ingredient, strength and clinical effectiveness as Viagra Connect and Eropid.
Aronix offers a proven, cost-effective alternative for treating erectile dysfunction (ED), without needing a GP appointment or prescription.
How Does Aronix Work?
Aronix contains sildenafil 50mg - a PDE-5 inhibitor. It works through the same mechanism as Viagra Connect, Eropid, generic sildenafil and tadalafil.
Importantly, its action is triggered by sexual stimulation or excitement. Without sexual stimulation, Viagra Connect Melts do not work.
When a patient is sexually stimulated, nerve signals help to relax blood vessels to the penis, increasing blood flow. This increased blood is held in the spongy tissues of the penis, which leads to an erection.
Can I Buy Aronix Without a Prescription?
Yes, Aronix is classed as a Pharmacy (P) medicine. You do not need a GP appointment or a prescription to purchase them.
As a pharmacy medicine however, the sale still needs to be supervised by a pharmacist. When ordering online through Quick Meds, this is done by completing a short questionnaire prior to checkout.

Who Can Take Aronix?
Aronix is suitable for men aged 18 and over who experience erectile dysfunction. However, they are not suitable for everyone.
Who Cannot Take Aronix?
Do not take Aronix if any of the following apply to you:
Nitrates & Poppers: You take nitrate medicines (e.g., GTN spray, isosorbide mononitrate) for chest pain/angina, or recreational "poppers" (amyl nitrite). Combining sildenafil with nitrates causes a severe and dangerous drop in blood pressure.
Riociguat: You take riociguat for pulmonary arterial hypertension.
Heart & Vascular Conditions: You have severe heart disease, unstable blood pressure, or a recent history of heart attack or stroke.
Liver Function: You have severe liver impairment.
Eye Disorders: You have hereditary degenerative retinal disorders, such as retinitis pigmentosa, or a history of NAION.
No ED Diagnosis: You do not experience erectile dysfunction (this medication is not intended for recreational use).
How To Take Aronix
For optimal results, you should take no more than one tablet in any 24-hour period, following the instructions below:
Swallow one tablet whole, 30-60 minutes before anticipated sexual activity.
Avoid high-fat meals before taking the melt - this can affect how long it takes to work.
Avoid excess alcohol, as this can also affect your ability to get an erection and reduce treatment effectiveness.
How Quickly Do They Work and How Long Do They Last
The tablets start to take effect within 30 to 60 minutes.
The active effect of treatment lasts in the body for up to 4 hours, allowing flexibility for intimacy within this window.
Side Effects & Precautions
As with any medication, the melts can cause side effects though not everyone experiences them.
Common Side Effects
The most common side effects, affecting up to 1 in 10 men include:
Headache or dizziness.
Facial flushing or hot flushes.
Indigestion or nausea
Nasal Congestion
Vision disturbances - such as a temporary blue-tinged vision.
Serious Side Effects
More serious side effects and reactions include:
An allergic reaction - swelling of the face, tongue, throat or lips with difficulty breathing.
Prolonged erection (Priapism) - lasting longer than 4 hours.
If you experience any of these, you should stop using the treatment and seek immediate medical attention.
