Strefen

Adults, the elderly and children aged 12 years and older: Take 1 lozenge by mouth and suck slowly.

• Move the lozenge around the mouth while sucking.

• The lozenge should start to work within 30 minutes.

• If needed, take 1 lozenge every 3–6 hours.

• Do not take more than 5 lozenges in 24 hours.

• For short-term use only. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration necessary.

• Do not use for longer than 3 days unless advised by your doctor.

• If mouth irritation occurs, stop using the lozenges.

• If symptoms such as fever or pain persist or worsen, consult a doctor or pharmacist without delay.

• If symptoms persist, pain worsens, or new symptoms develop, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Active Ingredient: Flurbiprofen 8.75mg

Honey and Lemon: Macrogol 300, potassium hydroxide, lemon favour, levomenthol, liquid sucrose, liquid glucose, honey.

Eucalyptus and Manuka Honey: macrogol 300, potassium hydroxide (E525), ammonia caramel (E150c), curcumin (E100) (contains propylene glycol (E1520) and polysorbate 80), honey and eucalyptus flavour (contains Flavouring preparations, natural flavouring substances, flavouring substances,triacetin (E1518), propylene glycol (E1520), anise alcohol, benzyl alcohol, benzyl benzoate, benzyl cinnamate, benzyl salicylate, cinnamal, cinnamyl alcohol, citral, geraniol, limonene and linalool), acesulfame potassium (E950), maltitol liquid (E965) and isomalt (E953).

Orange: macrogol 300, potassium hydroxide (E525), orange flavour, levomenthol, acesulfame potassium (E950), maltitol liquid (E965) and isomalt (E953).

Do not take Strefen if you:

• Are allergic to flurbiprofen, other NSAIDs, or any ingredient in the medicine.

• Have or have had stomach/intestinal ulcers or bleeding.

• Have previously had asthma, wheezing, breathing difficulties, a runny nose, facial swelling or hives after taking aspirin or NSAIDs.

• Have experienced serious bowel problems or bleeding caused by NSAIDs.

• Are taking high-dose aspirin (over 75 mg daily) or another NSAID such as ibuprofen or diclofenac.

• Have severe heart, kidney or liver failure.

• Are in the last 3 months of pregnancy.

Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before use if you:

• Have asthma or allergies.

• Have tonsillitis or think you may have a bacterial throat infection.

• Have heart, kidney or liver problems.

• Have an infection, or have previously had a stroke.

• Have bowel conditions such as ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease.

• Have an autoimmune condition such as lupus.

• Are elderly.

• Are in the first 6 months of pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you take:

• Aspirin or other NSAIDs, such as ibuprofen or diclofenac.

• Blood thinners or medicines affecting blood clotting.

• Blood pressure or heart medicines, including diuretics.

• Steroids such as prednisolone.

• Medicines for gout, diabetes, epilepsy, depression or HIV.

• Methotrexate, lithium, mifepristone, cyclosporine or tacrolimus.

• Certain antibiotics, including quinolones.

• Do not take if you are allergic to any of the ingredients

• Avoid alcohol while using Strefen, as it can increase the risk of stomach or intestinal bleeding.

• Each lozenge contains sugars, which should be considered if you have diabetes.

• Contains very low levels of gluten but should not be taken if you have a wheat allergy.

• If you are pregnant during the first 6 months or are breastfeeding, speak to your doctor before using Strefen.

Keep out of the sight and reach of children.

Do not use this medicine after the ‘EXP’ date shown on the pack.

Store below 25ºC. Protect from sunlight.
