Lemsip Cold and Flu Blackcurrant Sachets are a convenient hot-drink remedy designed to provide relief from common cold and flu symptoms. With a refreshing lemon flavour, each sachet dissolves easily in hot water to create a comforting drink. Ideal for helping ease symptoms such as aches, pains, fever, sore throat and blocked nose, making it a practical choice during cold and flu season.

Dosage

Adults, the elderly and children aged 16 years and over: Take one sachet every 4 to 6 hours as required.

  1. Empty the contents of one sachet into a mug of hot, but not boiling, water.

  2. Stir well until completely dissolved.

  3. If preferred, sweeten to taste with sugar, honey or your usual sweetener.

  4. Drink plenty of fluids while suffering from a cold or flu.

Do not take more than 4 sachets in any 24-hour period.

Ingredients

Active Ingredients: Paracetamol 500mg, Phenylephrine hydrochloride 6.1mg

Other Ingredients: Ascorbic acid (Vitamin C), citric acid, sucrose, aspartame, sodium citrate, saccharin sodium, caster sugar, curcumin (contains curcumin E100, lactose, polysorbate 80 E433 and silica E551), and blackcurrant flavour.

Warnings
  • Do not take this medicine if:

You are allergic to paracetamol, phenylephrine or any other ingredient.

You have a serious heart condition, high blood pressure or an overactive thyroid.

You are taking, or have taken within the last 14 days, monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), usually used to treat depression.

You are taking other sympathomimetic decongestants.

You have an enlarged prostate, phaeochromocytoma, diabetes or closed-angle glaucoma.

  • Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine if:

You have Raynaud’s syndrome or poor circulation.

You have liver or kidney problems.

You have non-cirrhotic liver disease.

You have phenylketonuria (PKU).

  • Tell your doctor immediately if you have a serious illness, severe kidney problems, sepsis, malnutrition or chronic alcoholism, or if you are taking flucloxacillin. These factors may increase the risk of a serious condition called metabolic acidosis. Symptoms can include severe or rapid breathing, drowsiness, nausea and vomiting.

  • Do not take this medicine with any other products containing paracetamol.

  • Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine if you use medicines such as:

Beta-blockers, blood pressure medicines or vasodilators.

Antidepressants, including tricyclic antidepressants.

Other decongestants or barbiturates.

Warfarin or other blood-thinning medicines.

Medicines for epilepsy, including phenytoin and carbamazepine.

Isoniazid for tuberculosis.

Flucloxacillin.

Digoxin or other heart medicines.

Oxytocin or ergot medicines used for migraines.

  • Tell your doctor or pharmacist about any other medicines you are taking, have recently taken or may take.

  • Do not use this product if you have a history of pre-eclampsia. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

Storage

Keep out of the sight and reach of children.

Do not use this medicine after the ‘EXP’ date shown on the pack.

Store below 25ºC. Protect from sunlight.
