Benylin Dry Cough
Benylin Dry Cough Syrup is formulated to help relieve dry, irritating and persistent coughs.It contains dextromethorphan hydrobromide, a cough suppresent that works to reduce the urge to cough, helping to soothe persistent coughing and provide relief when a dry cough is causing discomfort.

Dosage
Adults and children aged 12 years and over: Take two 5 ml spoonfuls every 4 to 6 hours.
Do not take more than 4 doses in 24 hours.
Ingredients
Active Ingredients: Dextromethorphan hydrobromide.
Other Ingrdients: sorbitol solution, glycerol, sucrose, liquid glucose, citric acid monohydrate, sodium benzoate (E211), caramel, saccharin sodium, imitation peach flavour (ethanol, propylene glycol), levomenthol, ethanol, carbomer and purified water.
Warnings
Do not use Benylin Dry Coughs Syrup if:
You are allergic or have previously had a bad reaction to any of its ingredients.
You have lung disease.
You are taking, or have taken within the last 14 days, medicines called monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).
You are taking selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) for depression or anxiety.
You are under 12 years old.
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before use if:
You have liver problems.
You have asthma, chronic bronchitis or emphysema, or have had a cough for several weeks or one producing a lot of phlegm.
You are taking other cough or cold medicines.
Your child is prone to allergic reactions.
You have, or have previously had, an addiction to opioids, alcohol, prescription medicines or illegal drugs.
You have experienced withdrawal symptoms after stopping alcohol or drugs.
You have been told you are a slow CYP2D6 metaboliser.
You take medicines that may interact with dextromethorphan, including certain antidepressants, antipsychotics, heart medicines, antifungals, opioid painkillers or antihistamines.
If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine.
This medicine may affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. Do not drive until you know how it affects you. It may be an offence to drive if your ability to drive safely is impaired.
Using this medicine regularly or for longer than recommended can lead to dependence or addiction. Taking more than the recommended dose or using it for longer than advised may increase this risk.
Possible withdrawal symptoms after stopping include:
Restlessness or difficulty sleeping
Irritability or anxiety
Palpitations or increased blood pressure
Nausea, vomiting or diarrhoea
Shaking, shivering or sweating
If you experience withdrawal symptoms or feel you need to take the medicine for longer or in higher doses than recommended, speak to your doctor or pharmacist.
Storage
Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
Do not use this medicine after the ‘EXP’ date shown on the pack.
Store below 25ºC. Protect from sunlight.
