Beechams Max Strength All In One Capsules
Beechams Max Strength All in One Capsules provide relief from the symptoms of colds and flu, as well as the pain and congestion associated with sinusitis.
They are formulated to help relieve multiple symptoms, including aches and pains, headache, blocked nose, sore throat, chills and feverishness. They can also help loosen stubborn mucus (phlegm) and provide relief from chesty coughs.
Each capsule contains three active ingredients that work to relieve different cold and flu symptoms:
Paracetamol is a painkiller that helps relieve aches, pains and headaches. It also helps reduce a high temperature associated with fever.
Guaifenesin is an expectorant that helps loosen phlegm, making it easier to clear and helping to relieve a chesty cough.
Phenylephrine hydrochloride is a decongestant that helps unblock the nose and sinuses, making it easier to breathe.
Dosage
Adults aged 16 years and over: Take 2 capsules every 4 hours as required.
Do not take more than 8 capsules, which is 4 doses, in any 24 hour period.
Do not give this medicine to children under 16 years of age.
Do not take the capsules more frequently than every 4 hours.
Do not exceed the recommended dose.
Do not take this medicine for more than 5 days without speaking to your doctor.
Ingredients
Active ingredients: Paracetamol 500 mg, guaifenesin 100 mg and phenylephrine hydrochloride 6.1 mg.
Other ingredients Maize starch,croscarmellose sodium, sodium laurilsulfate,magnesium stearate and talc. The capsule shell is made of gelatin and contains the colours quinoline yellow (E 104),indigo carmine (E 132), erythrosine (E 127) and titanium dioxide (E 171).
Warnings
Do not take this medicine if:
You are allergic to paracetamol, guaifenesin, phenylephrine hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients.
You have kidney or liver problems, including liver disease caused by alcohol.
You have an overactive thyroid, diabetes, high blood pressure or heart disease.
You have phaeochromocytoma or glaucoma.
You are taking tricyclic antidepressants.
You are taking, or have taken within the last 2 weeks, monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), such as moclobemide, for depression.
You are taking beta-blockers, such as atenolol.
You have an enlarged prostate.
Do not take any other medicine containing paracetamol while using Beechams Max Strength All in One Capsules.
Do not take with other flu, cold, decongestant or cough suppressant medicines.
This medicine may cause dizziness. If you feel dizzy, do not drive or operate machinery.
Speak to your doctor before use if:
You have a blood vessel condition such as Raynaud's phenomenon.
You have asthma or a chronic cough.
You have liver or kidney problems.
Serious illness
Tell your doctor immediately if you have a severe infection or serious illness, including severe kidney problems or sepsis, or if you:
Are malnourished.
Regularly drink large amounts of alcohol.
Are taking flucloxacillin, an antibiotic.
Seek urgent medical advice if you experience symptoms such as:
Serious difficulty breathing or deep, rapid breathing.
Extreme drowsiness.
Nausea or vomiting.
Loss of appetite.
Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine if you are taking any prescription or other medicines, particularly:
Metoclopramide or domperidone for nausea or vomiting.
Ergotamine or methylsergide for migraines.
Colestyramine for high cholesterol.
Medicines for high blood pressure.
Appetite suppressants or stimulants.
Antidepressants such as tricyclic antidepressants, including amitriptyline.
Medicines for heart conditions, such as digoxin.
Blood-thinning medicines such as warfarin.
Flucloxacillin, an antibiotic.
Speak to your doctor before taking this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Storage
Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
Do not use this medicine after the ‘EXP’ date shown on the pack.
Store below 25ºC. Protect from sunlight.
