Beechams Cold & Flu Hot Sachets provide short-term relief from the symptoms of colds, flu and chills.

They can help relieve common symptoms including:

Headache
Shivers
Aches and pains
Blocked nose and painful sinuses
Catarrh
Sore throat

Beechams Cold & Flu contains two active ingredients:

Paracetamol: A painkiller that helps relieve aches and pains and reduce a high temperature when you have a fever.
Phenylephrine hydrochloride: A decongestant that helps unblock the nose and sinuses, making it easier to breathe.

Dosage

Adults and children 16 years and over: Take one sachet every 4 hours as needed.

Empty the contents of one sachet into a mug.
Half fill with very hot water. Stir well.
Add cold water as necessary and sugar if desired.
Do not take more frequently than every 4 hours.
Do not take for more than 7 days without asking your doctor.
Do not take more than 6 sachets in 24 hours.

Ingredients

Active ingredients: Paracetamol 600 mg and Phenylephrine Hydrochloride 10 mg.

Lemon

Other ingredients: Ascorbic acid (vitamin C), sucrose, sodium citrate, citric acid, maize starch, sodium cyclamate, saccharin sodium, lemon flavour, honey flav-o-lok, honey flavour, caramel (E 150).

Blackcurrant

Other Ingredients: Ascorbic acid (vitamin C), sucrose, sodium citrate, citric acid, sodium cyclamate, saccharin sodium, blackcurrant juice, blackcurrant polvaromas, blackcurrant flavour, natural grapeskin E 163 (contains sulfur dioxide).

Warnings

Don't take Beechams Cold & Flu alongside anything else containing paracetamol or another cold/flu/decongestant product.

Do NOT take it if you:

Are allergic to paracetamol, phenylephrine, or its ingredients.
Have liver/kidney problems, high blood pressure, heart/circulation problems, diabetes, an overactive thyroid, glaucoma, an enlarged prostate, or certain adrenal-gland problems (phaeochromocytoma).
Take beta blockers.
Take certain antidepressants, especially tricyclic antidepressants or MAOIs (including if you stopped an MAOI within the last 2 weeks).
Do not take any other medicine containing paracetamol at the same time.
Do not combine it with other cold, flu or decongestant medicines.
It can cause dizziness, so don't drive if affected.
Each sachet contains 4 g of sugar and 136 mg of sodium. Ask a doctor/pharmacist before taking it if you have diabetes, blood-vessel problems such as Raynaud's, liver/kidney problems, or follow a low-sodium diet.
Tell your doctor/pharmacist about other medicines you're taking, especially medicines for nausea, migraines, blood pressure, depression, heart problems, cholesterol, or blood thinning (e.g. warfarin).
Tell your doctor if you take flucloxacillin, particularly if you are seriously ill, malnourished, have severe kidney problems, or regularly drink a lot of alcohol. A rare but serious blood/acid imbalance can occur.
Do not take it during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless a doctor advises you to.
