Although Daktarin Gold is primarily used to treat athlete's foot, it can also be used to treat skin infections in other regions of the body, including the breast area, jock area, and skin folds. Other factors that can benefit from this cream are athletes' foot, dhobie itch, and sweat rashes. The active ingredient within this medication is Ketoconazole. This kills both the infection-causing fungus and some possible related bacteria. Those who possess athletes' foot, will need to take extra precautions as the fungal spores are infamous for reoccurring if you do not use medicinal cream consistently. This is because athletes' foot occur in warm, moist areas so it is essential to take vital care of your feet i.e wearing clean socks and shoes. If you are appropriately and consistently using this cream, it should take 2 weeks to reduce the fungus and other infections surrounding your feet.

How to use

Before using the cream, you should first wash your hands thoroughly, then apply a small thin layer to the affected areas on your feet. The application process should be completed 2  times a day and should be rubbed in gently and efficiently, (full coverage).  Continue to constantly apply this treatment to the affected areas for a minimum of 2 weeks. If you have still not seen any improvement or if your symptoms have persisted then speak to your doctor or pharmacist and conversate on an alternative solution to treat your foot infections. Also, you would need to apply Daktarin Gold 2 percent Cream to the affected area once or twice a day to treat skin infections of the trunk, groin, and hands region.

Side effects & Caution

Speak to your doctor if you have currently used a different medical cream on your skin infection, especially ones that contain corticosteroid variables. This is because it may be more appropriate to use the corticosteroid creams with an emollient cream like daktarin gold, depending on how mild your infection is, it is always helpful to get extra direction from your doctor or pharmacist. Over 2 to 3 weeks, the symptoms should reduce. If that is not the case for you, we advise you to speak to your doctor and seek an alternative medication. Ensure the next source of treatment is more beneficial to your specific symptoms.


It is important to not use this product if you are allergic to any of the ingredients involved and if you are either pregnant, breastfeeding or diabetic, we advise you to speak to your doctor before using this product. This is for your safety and conducting extra precautions will help keep your skin protected away from other chemical substances.
