The Luteinizing Hormone is produced by the Pituitary gland, its essential as it confirms the development within ovaries and testicles. Distinguishing healthy levels of hormonal activity is vital as it determines the timing of ovulation. With the kit, you will be able to understand where your levels are at, to progressively improve fertility. This test makes it easy for you to conduct from home, a simple finger prick blood test will allow our medical professional to thoroughly examine what your body is sustaining.
If you need some factual evidence on what your body is producing fertility-wise, then this would be the best option for you. The reason is, that you will have access to the following factors: knowing whether your body has sustained healthy ovaries/eggs, identifying any issues which would affect your ovulation and formation period, and will examine the amount your body can take.
This general check-up of your Reproductive hormones will give you a clearer mindset on what you are producing and will set you up for the prospect of having a baby. So, if you wish to make a family, then why not take this test, and keep on top of what your body is producing. You don’t have much to lose other than taking 5 minutes of your day for the finger prick test.
How to use
Before completing the test, wash and dry your hands. Start by removing the lid off the blood tube, then use the alcohol wipe provided within the kit to clean the tip of your fingertip. Once the area is cleaned, twist and pull the purple tip off the lancet, center the tip on your finger, and push done. This will ensure the fingertip is pricked and blood will start to release from that area. Apply some pressure to ensure a certain amount of blood is released from the finger into the tube. Continue to do it until you meet the line on the tube.
Once that’s done,
push the cap back on the tube to avoid any contamination and apply a plaster to
your finger. Place the blood tube back into the box and fill out any details on
the form provided. Then all you must do is send it off with the pre-paid
envelope and wait for your results.
Side effects & Caution
Since the kit is a finger prick test, it’s unusual for you to experience any side effects as minimal blood is being released from your finger. Therefore, plaster would be enough to restrain the bleeding and pain from developing. If however, you are one of the few people who cannot handle fingerpick blood tests then ensure you call your GP if you experience the following side effects: headaches, lightheadedness, migraines, swelling, nausea, fainting, etc.
Caution: you don’t need to fast before conducting the home blood test as it will not affect your test results overall. Depending on your age the stats for a normal LH level within women is the following:5-25 international units per liter (IU/L) before menopause. And after menopause it: 14.2-52.3 IU/LI
If your result is extremely high then that may indicate you are in menopause. Along with other disorders like pituitary or polycystic ovary syndrome, they can also be a factor in why your results for LV are so high. Therefore, it’s advised to speak to your GP about your results and what’s next. Low LV levels may indicate that the following elements could relate to you: the early stage of the pituitary disorder, being in starvation, or developing anorexia.
If you are experiencing symptoms of ovulation, then go to your GP and discuss further what you are experiencing and how to rectify it. Symptoms of ovulation include nausea, headaches, libido changes, heightened sense, cervical muscle development, pelvic pain, etc.
Only suitable for ages 18 and over.
